The Yukon Quest is a 1600 km race through some of the harshest terrain in the Yukon and Alaska. It has major sponsorship and international press coverage. It is the same length as the Iditarod but has eight checkpoints, compared to the Iditarod's twenty seven, making it a more extreme race from the survival and dog care aspects. It costs about thirty thousand dollars to run the Quest. The major expenses are dog food for 35 dogs for one year, freeze dried dog food for the dogs during the race, equipment for the dogs and the musher, transportation during the race,(8000 km of 
driving), veterinary expenses and a host of other expenses.
For a significant amount of sponsorship you can follow me and my team along the race as a handler. This will give the sponsor a close-up look at my team and the race for the duration of the race (10 to 14 days). The standard practice for advertising by mushers is to have the company logo displayed on their dog truck, dog sled and on the musher's parka and hat. If I was sponsored I would do all of the above, and would also allow camera crews to photograph or videotape me during the race to help endorse your company. I would keep my sponsor updated on my training and other races via my web page which I am in the process of setting up.
One benefit is that a representative of your company such as your top salesperson or a director has the thrill of coming to Yukon and Alaska to be part of my team and witness up close the gruelling challenge of "The World's Toughest Dog Sled Dog Race." This individual would drive their vehicle with the support of my dog truck and be part of my crew in my efforts to win this year's Yukon Quest. The other obvious benefit is my endorsement of your product or service.
